The superior quality of the Horizon faceplate style has been designed to suit both traditional and contemporary interiors. Produced with square corners, it features trimless switches for exceptional product reliability. To ensure design uniformity throughout a project, non-standard accessories can be made to suit requirements.

A Recessed Floor Box is designed to blend seamlessly into the floor for an unobtrusive appearance. It can be easily opened to reveal a range of electrical outlets, data ports, or multimedia connections, making it a practical and versatile solution for a variety of settings to improve functionality and appearance. From conference rooms and classrooms to offices, living rooms, and kitchens.

The Horizon Square Recessed Floor Box comes with a 35mm metal back box. However, some of the Euro Sockets Modules linked below need the 47mm back box. Please note, sockets are not included.

Recess Floor Socket Installation in different types of floor

Floating Wood / Raised Floors

  • Mark the position for the floor socket with a cut-out size of 165 mm x 129 mm (Length x Width) for a double and 103mm x 129mm (LxW) for the single and ensure a minimum floor depth of 75 mm
  • Run cables under the raised floor and bring them up through the cut-out.
  • Position the box into place, the lip will cover the cut edges. The floor box socket will fit flat against the floor, it can be glued or screwed in for better security.

Existing Concrete Floor

  • Mark the exact location for the socket. Ensure enough space for the cable routing
  • Cut the concrete to a size of 165 mm x 129 mm (Length x Width) for a double or 103mm x 129mm (LxW) for the single and ensure the cavity depth is at least 75 mm
  • Drill a channel or hole for the conduit/cable to enter the recess and pull the cable through before setting the box.
  • If required, complete the flooring material (carpet, tile, etc.) around the cavity.
  • Fit the floor box ensuring a good seal and a flush fit with the surrounding floor.

New Concrete Floor (Before Pouring)

  • Position the box and mark it on the subfloor. Run conduit or trunking to the position before pouring
  • Create a formwork void: Build a small box or sleeve (165mm x 129mm internal size for a double or 103mm x 129mm (LxW) for the single, plus at least 75mm depth) to act as a placeholder in the concrete. Secure it so it doesn’t move during the pour.
  • Pour concrete leaving the formwork in place. Once cured, remove the formwork to reveal the recess.
  • If required, complete the flooring material (carpet, tile, etc.) around the cavity.
  • Install the Socket Box into the prepared void and fill any gaps with grout or appropriate filler to ensure the socket is secure and the finish is neat.

Please note: Be aware that this floor box socket is only designed to fit regular UK sized plugs. The lid will not close with bigger plugs.

Please note: Bronze finishes may vary from the images shown. Natural batch variations may result in tones that appear lighter or darker than those displayed on our website.
